Whangarei Tour Reviews

It sounds good but what did people really think? Check out our reviews below!

“We were a group aged 17 to 83 and Ana managed to accommodate all. A challenging cliff top walk for those more athletic. A more leisurely walk for the others. An awesome lunch provided, followed by a swim. Furnished off with some local beers from the brewery. Picked up and dropped off at our door. 10/10. Highly recommend Annemieke and Piwakawaka Tours if you want to discover local treasures.”

“For a “food experience” we thought the trip we did was excellent and gave a great range/variety. And, despite Jess and her friend being the only teenagers, they enjoyed the day too. Coffee from Ant’s was lovely and the space was rustic and funky. Grinning Gecko was great… and yummy! Their biggest draw card (apart from the cheese) was Zev! You’re greeted in Maori, and given the presentation by the award winning cheese maker!! Bennetts in Mangawhai was a polished operation and a great first stop after the drive out there. They were very professional. Olives on the Hill was interesting and really welcoming. Oils & vinaigrette tasted lovely. The Vineyard was a great way to finish up the trip. The wines were really interesting and some quite different to what we had experienced before and went well with the food. All of it was the perfect amount and flavours for a hot day.”

“Thank you so much for such a great tour. I am from Scotland travelling alone and when I arrived in Whangarei I wasn’t sure what sights to see. As I didn’t have a car I was a bit limited. I was so happy I chose to do this tour. I got to see beautiful beaches and countryside that as I am not a local I would never have known about. The tour guides were so knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife and made it so interesting. The lunch was spot on and really delicious. It was such a laid back atmosphere it felt like touring with a group of friends. Thanks again guys 😊”

“The Delicious Whangarei tour was incredible, loved every minute! The whole tour was thoughtfully planned and is a great way to get to know more about what Whangarei and Northland has to offer. Annemieke was a lovely, knowledgeable host who was fun and so welcoming. Would highly recommend and will definitely do it again when friends and family visit to show off Northland paradise!”

“Travelling without a car was the perfect excuse for me to do a Whangarei tour. Ana was a likable guide and as I am a newbie to NZ, she provided lots of tips and local info as well as history of the area. After an epic and super tasty BBQ (not your average tour lunch) we had about an hour at Whale Bay with the beach all to ourselves. Enough time to explore the rock pools and just chill. A nice stop at a lovely gift shop on the way back to town. Overall a great tour to wonderful places that most tourists won’t get to. Thanks Ana!!”

“Absolutely stunning views and great tour guides! We got to go on a beautiful beach walk, explore caves, see a waterfall, and learn about native plants and Maori culture! We had a great time and would definitely do it again. The food was great too!”

“Such a great way to see parts of Northland otherwise not seen by tourists. We didn’t meet any other people on our entire walk. Such an amazing experience.”
